Larry Walker III
Larry Walker is a lifelong Middle Georgian who proudly represents Georgia's 20th Senate District, which includes Bleckley, Dodge, Dooly, Houston, Laurens, Pulaski, Treutlen, and Wilcox counties. A graduate of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, Larry began his career with The Coca-Cola Company before returning home to build a life and business in Perry. In 1996, he founded Walker Insurance Agency, where he continues to serve as President and CEO. His experience as a small business owner shaped his understanding of what it takes to create opportunity, strengthen local economies, and support working families across Middle Georgia.
Faith and family are at the center of Larry's life.
He and his high school sweetheart, Adrienne,
have been married for over 40 years. Together,
they raised three sons—Ben, Cody, and Wade-
and are proud grandparents. Active members
of Perry Methodist Church and longtime
participants in community service through the
Perry Rotary Club and other local
organizations, the Walkers are deeply invested
in the people and communities they call home.
First elected to the Georgia Senate in a 2015 special election, Larry has earned a reputation for building consensus, delivering results, and championing meaningful legislative victories. In 2026, he was unanimously elected President Pro Tempore of the Georgia Senate, the highest leadership position for/as a senator. In this role, he presides over the Senate chamber in the absence of the Lieutenant Governor and works closely with Senate leadership to set the legislative agenda, pass a balanced budget and deliver results. Larry also serves on the Appropriations, Rules, Insurance, Transportation and Agriculture and Consumer Affairs committees, as well as on legislative oversight committees for several state authorities.
Larry’s legislative priorities are centered on Georgia values:
Economic Growth and Lower Taxes — Helping advance historic income and property tax relief, cutting red tape on small businesses, eliminating barriers to work and creating targeted incentives to bring high quality jobs to rural communities.
Improving Rural Health Care — Working to stabilize rural hospitals and strengthen access to quality healthcare so families outside metro Atlanta receive the care they deserve.
Agriculture — Supporting Georgia’s farmers and foresters by delivering disaster relief for Georgia Farmers in the wake of Hurricane Helene and creating investment incentives to expand markets for Georgia Grown Wood Products.
Workforce/Education — Fighting to ensure that every student receives a quality education that fits their needs by empowering Parents and supporting our Teachers. Allocating resources and promoting policies to prepare the next generation of Georgia’s workforce.
These priorities come from listening to friends, neighbors and constituents from across middle Georgia. For Larry, protecting access to rural health care, improving educational outcomes, safe communities and supporting a strong business climate is common sense.
